Has a man ever stabbed you in the back? Stab him back!
Okay, so we’re not actually condoning causing physical pain to the scumbag, good-for-nothing, lowlife, toe-rag who has just left you in the lurch, washed your delicates at too high a temperature, or run off with your Romanian ironing lady…
But if you’ve ever been let down by a man then here’s something that might make you feel better, and doesn’t have as many calories as ice cream or chocolate.
I was actually given this by someone I know. One day, I got a call out of the blue from an old New Zealand friend saying that her younger sister had just arrived at Heathrow airport and could do with rescuing. When I picked the girl up, it turned out that she had flown around the world as her British boyfriend had dumped her just days before – despite her having arranged to sell her house and up sticks to be with him, at his suggestion, in the UK!
The poor thing was heartbroken obviously, and she stayed with us for a few months as she pulled herself together and – I’m delighted to say – didn’t get reconciled with her (quite older, unimpressive, not terribly attractive) boyfriend.
But she did, when she finally left to continue her journey around the world, give us this stabbed man knife holder. And it always make us smile and think of her when we see it.
